Article 2 – Definitions and applicability
In these general terms and conditions, the following terms are understood to mean:
- Kiekeboe: the business entity offering products via bykiekeboe.nl;
- consumer: the natural person not acting for purposes related to their trade, business, craft, or professional activity;
- agreement: the distance contract concluded between Kiekeboe and the consumer;
- product: any product offered via the Kiekeboe webshop.
These general terms and conditions apply to every offer made by Kiekeboe and every agreement concluded via bykiekeboe.nl.
Article 3 – The offer and product information
Kiekeboe does its best to describe and display products, materials, colors, dimensions, and specifications as accurately as possible.
Colors may vary slightly from their representation on the website due to screen settings, lighting, or production batches.
Obvious errors, mistakes, or clear price inaccuracies are not binding for Kiekeboe if the consumer could reasonably have understood that a mistake was involved.
Products are offered while supplies last, unless stated otherwise.
Article 4 – Formation of the agreement
The agreement is concluded when the consumer places an order and Kiekeboe has confirmed the order electronically.
Kiekeboe may refuse an order or impose additional conditions if there is a reasonable ground for doing so, for example in the case of an obvious payment error, an indication of fraud, or a manifest pricing error.
Article 5 – Prices and payment
All prices on bykiekeboe.nl are stated in euros and include VAT, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Any shipping costs will be clearly displayed before finalizing the order.
Payment is made via the payment methods made available during checkout.
Article 6 – Delivery
Kiekeboe processes and ships orders according to the information provided on the website and in the shipping policy.
The consumer is responsible for correctly entering the delivery details.
Kiekeboe will make every effort to deliver orders within the indicated timeframe. If delivery is delayed, the consumer will be informed about this where possible.
The legal rights of the consumer remain fully applicable in the event of delay or loss during transport.
Article 7 – Pre-orders
When a product is offered as a pre-order, it is clearly indicated before purchase that the product is not yet immediately available for delivery.
The delivery period stated for a pre-order is an expectation. If this period changes significantly, Kiekeboe will inform the consumer.
A pre-order does not limit the statutory consumer rights, including the right of withdrawal.
Article 8 – Right of withdrawal
For online purchases, the consumer has the right to withdraw from the agreement within 14 days after receiving the product, without providing a reason.
When an order consists of multiple products delivered separately, the cooling-off period generally begins on the day after the last product is received.
Within the cooling-off period, the consumer can inform Kiekeboe of their decision to cancel the purchase via their customer account or via:
After notifying us of the withdrawal, the consumer then has another 14 days to return the product.
During the cooling-off period, the consumer shall handle the product and packaging with care. The consumer may only unpack or use the product to the extent necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the product.
If the consumer handles the product in a way that goes beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the product, Kiekeboe may charge for the resulting depreciation in value, insofar as this is legally permitted.
The consumer shall return the product, as far as reasonably possible, with all delivered accessories and in accordance with Kiekeboe's reasonable return instructions.
Article 9 – Returns
Returned products must be packaged carefully and sufficiently protected.
If the product is damaged or the packaging is more damaged than necessary to assess the product, Kiekeboe may charge for the resulting depreciation in value.
The direct costs of returning the product are borne by the consumer, unless:
- Kiekeboe delivered the wrong product;
- the product was delivered damaged or defective;
- Kiekeboe has explicitly indicated in advance that it will cover the return costs;
- the law dictates otherwise.
Kiekeboe advises the consumer to keep the proof of postage for a return shipment until the return has been fully processed.
Returns can be sent to:

Article 10 – Refund
In the event of a valid withdrawal, Kiekeboe will refund all amounts to which the consumer is legally entitled, including the costs of the cheapest standard delivery offered by Kiekeboe.
The refund will take place no later than 14 days after Kiekeboe has received the notice of withdrawal.
Kiekeboe may withhold the refund until the product has been received back or until the consumer has demonstrated that the product has been returned, whichever occurs first.
In principle, the refund will be issued using the same payment method used for the original order, unless otherwise explicitly agreed with the consumer.
If the consumer chose a delivery method for the original order that was more expensive than Kiekeboe's cheapest standard delivery, Kiekeboe is not required to refund the difference in delivery costs.
Article 11 – Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal can only be excluded in cases where the law permits this.
This may apply to, among others:
- products manufactured according to the consumer's specific requirements and which were not pre-produced;
- clearly personalized products;
- sealed products that are not suitable for return for reasons of health protection or hygiene, where the seal has been broken after delivery.
Kiekeboe only applies an exception when it is legally applicable and the consumer has been clearly informed of this prior to purchase.
Article 12 – Statutory warranty and conformity
The consumer is entitled to a product that complies with the agreement and what can reasonably be expected thereof.
If a product does not comply with the agreement during normal use, you may contact us via info@bykiekeboe.nl.
The statutory warranty applies in addition to any supplementary warranties that Kiekeboe voluntarily offers.
Article 13 – Usage and product safety
The consumer must use products in accordance with the user manuals, product information, and any safety or maintenance instructions.
Products must be checked for wear, damage, or loose parts before every use.
Any product-specific warnings and maintenance instructions on the packaging, product page, or accompanying the product are part of the user instructions.
Article 14 – Complaints
Kiekeboe has a clear complaints procedure and handles every complaint according to this procedure.
If the consumer has a complaint regarding the performance of the agreement, it must be submitted fully and clearly described to Kiekeboe within two months of discovering the defect, via:
Kiekeboe will respond as much as possible within 7 days of receiving the complaint. If a complaint requires a longer processing time, the consumer will receive an acknowledgment of receipt within this period, with an indication of when a more detailed response can be expected.
In the event of complaints, the consumer must always first contact Kiekeboe to investigate whether an appropriate solution can be offered.
If the parties cannot reach an amicable solution, the consumer can turn to WebwinkelKeur. WebwinkelKeur mediates free of charge. The consumer can verify if Kiekeboe has an active membership via the WebwinkelKeur member list.
If mediation by WebwinkelKeur does not lead to a solution, the consumer may submit the complaint to the independent disputes committee appointed by WebwinkelKeur. Costs may be associated with this process.
Article 15 – Liability
Kiekeboe is liable insofar as this liability arises from the law or the agreement.
Nothing in these general terms and conditions limits or excludes liability insofar as such exclusion or limitation is not permitted under mandatory Dutch consumer law.
Kiekeboe is not liable for damage resulting exclusively from the use of a product contrary to the provided user, safety, or maintenance instructions, insofar as the law permits.
Article 16 – Force majeure
When Kiekeboe is temporarily unable to fulfill an obligation due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, it will inform the consumer as soon as possible.
Depending on the circumstances, force majeure may include severe disruptions with carriers, natural disasters, fire, war, government measures, and other unforeseen circumstances over which Kiekeboe cannot reasonably exercise control.
Statutory consumer rights remain applicable.
Article 17 – Intellectual property
All texts, photography, designs, logos, trade names, and other content on bykiekeboe.nl are the property of Kiekeboe or are used with permission, insofar as intellectual property rights exist on them.
Without prior permission, it is not permitted to copy, publish, or commercially use this content, except as permitted by law.
Article 18 – Privacy
Kiekeboe processes personal data in accordance with the Privacy Policy published on the website.
Article 19 – Applicable law and disputes
Dutch law applies to agreements between Kiekeboe and consumers.
This choice of law does not prejudice any mandatory consumer protection to which a consumer is entitled under the law of their country of residence.
Disputes will be handled by the competent court in accordance with the applicable legal rules.
